Covid-19, Compliance, and Essential Business
As we continue to navigate these uncertain times, J.S. Goode Landscaping is as committed to our customers and our employees as ever. We have always tried to provide our customer family with as much information on their landscapes and outdoor living spaces as possible, to help you maintain a safe and beautiful environment. That being said, clarification is in order.
As the owner of this business, John has been diligently monitoring all our professional resources and daily updates from the news conferences to assure that we are providing a safe working environment for our employees and customers. The information provided is from the National Association of Landscape Professionals and Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association. Also sited is Dr. Amy Acton’s Stay at Home Order a pdf explanation.
As noted by our professional organizations and many other sources landscaping, as an industry, falls under the heading of construction. Specifically, the director’s order quoting Section 12, paragraph K says,
“Critical trades. Building and Construction Tradesmen and Tradeswomen, and other trades including but not limited to plumbers, electricians, exterminators, cleaning and janitorial staff for commercial and governmental properties, security staff, operating engineers, HV AC, painting, moving and relocation services, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, Essential Activities, and Essential Businesses and Operations”
Clearly, most all services provided by our company fit within this guideline. It should be noted that we are not alone in our interpretation of this order. Landscapers across Ohio continue to work. We are a low risk business that can function with little to no customer contact. We offer all our services with the “No Contact Option.” Our employees are following safe practices on site and at the shop.
Our customers are the life-breath of our business and your health and safety are a primary concern, now and as it always has been. As long as we are able, we will continue to provide you with our best while always working within the guidelines as they become available.
